A community chorus for boys and girls to develop their singing voices while learning and enjoying a wide variety of challenging choral music. Pro Musica Youth Chorus is an independent program of the Arts Alliance. Call 978.562.1646 or email us for times and further information. The Pro Musica Youth Chorus, founded and directed by Jan Patterson, is currently celebrating its 22nd season. The Youth Chorus was originally formed to portray the gingerbread children and angels in Symphony Pro Musica's 1987 production of Hansel and Gretal. It has since performed in numerous Symphony Pro Musica Holiday Concerts, productions of Carmen, La Boheme, and La Fiesta de la Posada, annual Spring Concerts, and by request for many community groups in the area.
The chorus includes singers, ages 8 through 17, from many local communities. The group, which rehearses on Monday evenings (September – June) at the Hudson High School, provides an opportunity for young singers to develop their voices, repertoire, and musicianship as they learn and perform a variety of challenging music, from Medieval through 20th century. Drop in at 6:30 pm to see what fun we have!
The Chamber Singers, an ensemble of older chorus members, devotes additional time to rehearsal each week.
