Saturday Morning Discovery Series
The City of Marlborough, Massachusetts, and the Arts Alliance bring this series of free family performances to downtown Marlborough. The programs feature some of the best entertainers in New England and beyond, including musicians, storytellers, singers, jugglers, magicians and more. Appealing performers present free family friendly entertainment at 11 am. Performing artists have been entertaining the public in these free performances since 2001. This program is a joint project of the Arts Alliance and the City of Marlborough and is funded by generous community-minded organizations and individuals who know how important the arts are in challenging times. Summer Session: Union Common, Marlborough (intersection of Main and Bolton (Route 85) Streets), June 27 through August 29. Rain Location: Walker Building, 255 Main Street, Marlborough, 3rd floor. Our current season's line-up: June 27 PanNeubean Steel- an oasis of musical moods. Caribbean music featuring steel drums. July 4 Yankee Doodle Magic Show. . . it's a dandy! with one-of-a-kind magician Debbie O'Carroll. July 11 Mestizo Manta- traditional South American music from the Andes Mountains. July 18 Magic by George- be prepared for fun audience interaction with a humorous award winning magician. July 25 Story Caravan: Fabulous folktales and fables from the Middle East told by George Capaccio. August 1 The Suspenders- jugglers with a high energy family show to amuse and amaze the audience. August 8 Gloucester Hornpipe and Clog Society- music of colonial New England with jigs, reels and songs of the sea! August 15 Wide Open Spaces- homegrown bluegrass and folk music entertaining for audiences of all ages. August 22 Tom McCabe- Parents Choice award winning storyteller relates humorous and heartwarming stories for all! August 29 Roger Tincknell- folk music for everyone to enjoy including stringed, woodwind and percussion instruments.
